Business Partners for Oral Health | |
One of the populations we want to serve is uninsured low to moderate income community members. We understand that this population cannot afford needed dental care. We also know that many small businesses cannot afford to offer dental insurance in their employee benefit package.
Ashland County Oral Health Services wants to partner with businesses and their employees to provide affordable dental care in our community. Each partner plays a vital part in making our community healthier.
The plan:
- ACOHS will offer a 25% discount on care provided to employees of participating businesses
- The business would contribute 25% of the fee or whatever percentage is decided. (The business could set an annual cap on the amount they would pay per employee.)
- The employee would pay the remaining balance of the fee. (50% if the business contributes 25%)
|
 |
For example, services that an employee might receive in one year could include:
| Exam |
$70 |
| 2 Bitewing x-rays |
$35 |
| Cleaning |
$70 |
| 1-surface silver Filling |
$100 |
| 2-surface white Filling |
$150 |
| Extraction |
$105 |
| Total |
$530 |
In our Plan:
ACOHS discounts services by $132.50
The employer pays $132.50 (25 percent of the regular fee)
The employee pays $265 (amount remaining)
An employer would pay approximately $240-$300 annually for an employee's dental insurance premium, whether or not services are utilized.
